16 oz Shredded Cheddar or Colby Cheese
4 cups (20 oz) Bisquick Baking Mix
1 lb breakfast Sausage (uncooked)
2 oz whole milk
1/2 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper (optional)
In a mixing bowl, add the Bisquick Baking Mix and the Cayenne Pepper then add the shredded cheese and combine well by hand.
Add in the sausage a handful at a time, making sure to combine well until you have what looks like a crumble. Use finger tips to fully break apart the sausage so that it mixes completely with baking mix.
Add the milk and knead completely until there is no longer any crumbles and you have what looks like a dough.
Place parchment paper on a cookie sheet.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Weigh out 1-ounce portions and roll into balls and place on a cookie sheet close but not touching. (They will not expand.)
Bake for 25 minutes.
Serve immediately or can be served after cooling.
